Mademoiselle Prive ~ Saatchi Gallery

I was fortunate enough to visit the "Mademoiselle Prive" exhibition held at the Saatchi Gallery a few days ago, that highlights the Haute couture , the re-editions of the high jewellery collection created in 1932 and CHANEL No5, presented by Karl Lagerfeld and the house of CHANEL. It was a journey through the origins of CHANEL's creations capturing the charismatic personality and irreverent spirit of mademoiselle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld. Everything about the exhibition was beautiful! Being obsessed with the brand CHANEL made the experience extraordinary for me.

Three floors of the gallery showcased the brand's essential elements; Audacity, Freedom and innovation. Whether it was Gabrielle Chanel's inspirations or Karl Lagerfeld's take on Chanel's codes, symbols and icons. When walking into the exhibition, it was clear that the gallery was an imitation of Chanel's original store opened by mademoiselle Coco Chanel herself in Paris. Those who worked at the gallery welcomed us into the first room, which happened to be a rise of stairs in which leads to where Karl Lagerfeld spent his time with Chanel , which is where all the magic was created. Mirrors graced the walls; reason being, when Coco spent time at her store she would like to remain upstairs but was able to look down at the mirrors to see what was happening in her store from the mirror reflection. When continuing the exhibition, the unique yet raw french speaking voice of coco Chanel was amplified throughout the exhibition, explaining in her own voice her ideas and the symbolism of each dress and room.

Every part of the exhibition was mesmerising; and it was definitely an eye opening experience for a fashion blogger who admires legendary designers and aspires to do the same in the future.

All pictures have been taken on the Nikon D50 personally by me.
